Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea ArShaye Moss, have been cleared of election fraud accusations after a lengthy investigation. Former President Donald Trump and conspiracy theorists had alleged that Freeman and Moss were involved in fraudulent activities during the 2020 presidential election. Trump and his ally Rudy Giuliani claimed that security videos showing Freeman and Moss handling USB drives were evidence of their wrongdoing. However, Moss clarified that her mother had simply handed her a ginger mint during ballot counting. Georgia’s State Election Board concluded that the claims of election fraud were unsubstantiated and without merit. The FBI, Georgia Bureau of Investigations, and investigators from the Secretary of State’s office contributed to the findings. Freeman and Moss testified before the U.S. House’s Jan. 6 committee last year. They have faced significant harm to their reputations and have filed defamation lawsuits against various individuals and outlets in an effort to protect their names. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger expressed support for ending the investigation and praised election workers for their service.
