A 36-year-old man named Vincent T. Myers was shot and killed at a convenience store in Tifton, Georgia. The incident occurred at the Sunoco convenience store on South Central Avenue near the Interstate 75 exit ramp. The Tift County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting after receiving a 911 call at 3:50 p.m. on Monday. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is currently investigating the incident, and more information will be released in a press release soon.

According to the victim’s uncle, Tyrone Taylor, initial accounts suggest that Myers may have been targeted and knew the shooter. He attempted to defend himself but had recently undergone surgery on his right hand, which might have made it difficult to protect himself effectively. The family believes the suspect may have been injured during the incident and sought medical attention at Tift Regional Medical Center, leading to their arrest.

A man named Antavio Pierce has been arrested and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in connection with the incident, according to booking information from the Tift County Jail. Vincent Myers was a U.S. Army veteran and is survived by his wife and three children. The investigation is ongoing, and arrangements for Myers’ body are pending further investigation.
