Authorities have made arrests in connection with the shooting death of Travis Lamar Caruthers, a 42-year-old man from Tifton, Georgia. On July 5, Caruthers was found dead on Shanna Drive, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. On July 16, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and the Tift County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kadeem Harris Jr., 34, of Lenox, and charged him with felony murder and aggravated assault. Harris was apprehended after a brief standoff with law enforcement officials at 109 E. 14th St. in Tifton. Additionally, Carlos Searcy, 48, of Tifton, Lakisha Perry, 35, of Tifton, and John Daniell, 47, of Eastman, were also arrested in connection with the investigation. Searcy is charged with felony murder and aggravated assault, Perry is charged with possession of fentanyl, possession of cocaine, and theft by receiving stolen property, while Daniell is charged with possession of cocaine. Harris is being held at the Coffee County Jail, and Searcy, Perry, and Daniell are being held in the Tift County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
